An exhibition of art by graduates of the University aimed at raising funds for the Trust is to take place in south-west London from November 11 to December 8.
The mixed-media event, entitled “Trust Artists”, will be held at the Milton Gallery at St Paul’s School, Barnes, London SW13 7RR. It will include painting, drawing, printmaking and ceramics by about 20 professional artists living in the UK or South Africa.
The list of artists has yet to be finalised but those now in the UK include: Jenny Franklin, Sue Rosenberg, Jonathan Keep, Jil Orpen and Anna Alcock. Please Google their names on the internet for an idea of the work they are currently producing. It is worth noting Jenny had her first solo exhibition at St Paul’s and has gone on to forge a successful career. Currently she is represented by the Crane Kalman Gallery in Knightsbridge, London.
Juliet Armstrong from the University’s Department of Creative Visual Arts in Pietermaritzburg is collating work from SA. Some familiar names include: Ian Calder, Jinny Heath, Terry King, Walter Oltmann, David Walters and Vulindlela Nyoniare. Work from the Ardmore Pottery, the brainchild of Feé Halsted-Berning, will also be exhibited.
More details of the exhibition will be provided in due course. If you would like an invitation to the Private View on the evening of Wednesday, November 10, please contact us.
